As I tryed to render a pot of honey using sss, I found that sss inside dielectrics seems to behave just as dielectrics inside dielectrics, at least in the preview. Low absorption makes it worse.

sss in dielectrics hasn't been properly implemented yet, as far as i know.
So what you're seeing isn't correct. Only diffuse and plastic materials behave as they should.
