yep, this has been addressed before. don't worry about that, even though it says 4 procs two xeons count as two cpus, not four.

yup. I have a modern P4 (single CPU) and it shows up as 2 CPUs... but I only assumed that was ok. Now I know for sure.

...althought mentioned before here it is to make it clear:

You can use up to 4cpus! No matter what kind (Xeon,P4,AMD,G5 etc)...

Xeons and P4's have a Hyper Threading technology (HT) that in some cases (especially in rendering) performs better (depends from renderer).

The two cpu's that you see are actually one! 1 is the physical and the other is the virtual cpu!

Now dualcores (2 physical cpu in one unit) is not 100% clear and final if NL will allow to use Maxwell with 1 license 4 Dual Cores = 8 single cpu.

It depends from the performance and other factors that only NL will decide in the near future!

At the moment (with 1 license) even if you have a Quad Xeon/Opteron System (monster system) you are good to go!

I know this might sounds crazy but you might have an old license that does not support 4cpu's. At the beginning Maxwell license was for 2cpu's and the wonderfull people at NL changed it to 4!

This is not a common issue and I have only experienced it once but I have to mentioned it.

TO ALL: Please do not worry or be afraid that your license is not for 4 and start e-mailing NL about: Is my license for 4 cpu's?

...anyway I might be totally wrong about it in your case and I assume that your re an eligible maxwell user so better contact NL and e-mail them you license.txt file to test it.
