Like the others i covert HDRI to tiff to MXI, and apply it to sphere emitter wrap around the object, but this make me wonder how can i get rid of the background now?
:?
In vray eg. u can render hdri without showing the background, so i can't do it with maxwell now?? thanks~

Same issue. :) There is no current way you can to that without post, I think. Right now, not even an alpha mask can help you, because the emitter has alpha contribution too.

Btw, really nice MXI test, almost like HDR files.

true, but in this case it can be sorted very easily. it only takes another pass with no background sphere (to avoid aliasing issues you may need to do the second pass with maxwell as well, but it doesn't need anything more than totally diffuse black objects this time).
