Where - in Explorer, in a file-browser dialog, or? The 1.8.3 Rhino plugin has a user-preference for its custom file-browser: Options > User Interface > Use Custom File Dialog. If that's disabled, then there won't be any preview pane in the dialog.

Hi JD- do you ever sleep :).... thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I think that the problem lies with Explorer. I used to be able to see them when opening a normal window, but I can't see them in Rhino either- I assume that the problem lies with Windows and that once I have the 64 bit viewer/driver than I would be able to see previews in Rhino again- but that is just a theory.

I figured that I would check out the Custom File Dialog but I am not seeing User Interface beneath the Options tab in Rhino.

Are you looking in the Scene Manager's Options page? User Interface is the first group in that window, and this option is 7th down in the list. As far as showing these things in Explorer, that is not a native capability of Windows, so you must've installed a shell extension from someone or other in your old OS. I think the RDK might install one that does this, otherwise there are a few other apps like PhotoShop that might.
