In view of the upcoming launch, we are also announcing a free upgrade campaign which starts today! Customers purchasing standard licenses between now and the Maxwell Render 2 launch date will receive a 25% discount and also be entitled to a free upgrade to Maxwell Render 2 upon release.

I found this in an evermotion email. Looks like anyone buying now is going to get an interesting deal...

I too go this Email.

Where do we as Maxwell old-timers stand on this?

I have a small business here and have to budget accordingly. It would be useful to me, and I presume many others to have an indication for cashflow reasons.

hmm...
it's a normal process... if you buy 1.0 now you'll get the upgrade to 2.0 for free in a few months - so you don't have to wait, NL gets the money now and everything is fine...

Hi everyone,

The Maxwell Render promotion mentioned in the Evermotion email is available from our website now too: http://www.maxwellrender.com. Evermotion are one of our resellers and they already knew we were going to run this promo.

Customers purchasing Standard licenses between now and the Maxwell Render 2 launch date will receive a 25% discount and will also be entitled to a free upgrade to Maxwell Render 2 upon release.
Render nodes are not included in the discount offer but will receive the free upgrade – so if you are looking to buy additional licenses, now would be a good time.

We will inform you about our upgrade policies and pricing for existing customers as soon as possible. Of course, all customers are free to upgrade as many of their licenses as they want.

Cheers,

Nicole

Yep, saw that time-limited offer on other reseller sites, too. So it seems like v.2.0 will be here sooner then we may have thought. :D
But what is also interesting:
"...The price for the upgrade from 1.x to 2 has not yet been set. But we're expecting it to be somewhere around 250-400 Euros..."

Awesome stuff thanks NL! i eagerly await good news hehe
I am still reeling from the version 2 vs 1.7 benchmark tests. One thing that would be interesting to see is how these comparisons span over 5k render sizes. If the smaller renders are anything to go by then we are all in for a real treat. Naturally speed has been the most frustrating part of the render system's pitfalls (which aren't all that many), I guess quite soon it's going to be up to maxwell users to show the world how damn efficient and easy this wonderful program is to use :)

Being one of those who were lucky enough to receive 4 licenses out of just one - though not lucky enough to get 8 -, I guess I would have to pay 4 times the upgrade price to keep my licenses contemporary?
Feels a bit funny.. bought one license in early days, transformed into 4 licenses, and now will need to purchase 4 upgrades... or will there be a "special" again for us multiple "special" ones?...
