Is it possible to designate a specific number of cores to use on a computer using a node license, in a cooperative render? We have tried adding a switch in the properties of the ms program (e.g. -th:2).

thanks

Just a follow-up question,
is it possible on a node, to specify the location where the temp file is saved at each "Next Update?"

you mean like update_1 in folder \temp_1 and update_n in folder_n?
i don't think that's possible, as mw uses the os's temp folder.

otoh if i took your question the wrong way - there's your answer ...
set the os's temp path according to your needs.

option 2:
will that mess up some things with windows?

no, not at all.

i have all my temp folders relocated on another drive, like e:\temp\.
they fragment a lot and this way it is easier to empty them from time to time.

my computer -> right click -> properties -> advanced -> env variables ->
upper field double click both and change as you wish AND lower field (system variables) -> TEMP and TMP change as upper field.
