Hi,

This is my first post here. I am a Maxwell users since about two months ago and I am interested to know how you would approach a studio setup like this in Maxwell (the image is shot in one of our studios). Do you create a plane with a transparent MXM-material and then place an emitter behind it or is it made better some other way? Would you recommend to model the emitter, including the reflector, or should I just use a plane with emitter materials?

Also, how would that MXM-material for the paper be made? The meaning with the transparent paper is to get a gradient light/reflection, which is stronger where the light/emitter is, fading out in the corners.

I've experimented with some materials, but none of them let much light through and I don't get the gradient I am after. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the links. I've seen the wineglass tutorial before, but I don't really understand how to use the gradient image. Does it need to be an HDR or would an 8-bit image work fine? Is this gradient texture map used as an image emitter or is it placed in a BSDF-layer in the emitter material (that maybe won't work at all?)?

Thanks again.
