I would be interested too... the bronze materials that I created are not working for me :?

What kind of bronze are you after?? There are all kinds of bronzes that have dramatically different colors - especially the ones with higher tin content.

It looks like this

Maximus can you make it more orange/brown looking? :P

how does it look on flat surfaces?

mine looks pretty much what I want in the preview... but it's completely dull on flat surfaces

Sure thing Leo, i can tweak this into a more orange brown type of color if you want. :) but like any metal on a flat surface, especially reflective and semi-reflective metals it won't look good on flat surfaces. Take a look at the same one used for the Lux head rendering above, this time on a flat plane. Not to exciting is it.. :D

Ok some quick tweaking done now, maybe this is closer to the real thing. :) i hope so..

[Edit] : Adding new updates one's below, or rather variations of the first one in this post. These are both brighter types of brass. There are so many different variations that this could be tweaked in infinity..

The version below is inspired by this statues bronze material.

Max, your tweaked versions look more like brass now (even though it all depends on the lightning) Image

- it's a pretty decent brass material actually - maybe it needs a tiny bit of green tones because brass likes to get a green patina it. Your second version which you posted was close but and would be much much better without those alomost pink/violet tones in it (btw there wasn't too much copper in it). Without them it would be quite good for a CuSn8 (92% Cu 8% Sn) bronze.

To me this dillema seems as if only people weren't really sure how bronze really looks like. Well no wonder since a fresh sheet of bronze looks so different from the one with oxidation on it. And also because there's quite alot of different bronze alloys out there (which range from dark red/brown to gold and gold/silver)

Thanks guys :) JC, Kurt and Bubba & Brett. You're all to kind

Hybaj: Thanks and yes it needs more tweaking to get more accurate, the reflective properties and hightlights are not quite there yet, it feels to dull to me. As you suggested i will also add a more greenish tone to it. But this is a tough one to weight in properly, atleast for me because it can so easily and quickly turn into a fullblown copper or something else if you adjust the colors to much in one direction.

True that copper has as many different looks, almost an infinite amount of variations can be found of this material so it's difficult to recreate just one that fits all situations and needs.

I'll see how and if i can fix this, if not i hand it over to Kurt, he can easily sort this out. :)
