Glare! (or an .mp3 with the sound of the saber buzzing in the air :D )
Just kidding, of course. Nice so far

@Mattia - Ill go for the glare first then try the .mp3 sound of the saber buzzing in the air!

@Bubbaloo - How would I need to apply the glare? when I use scatter in maxwell the hole seen gets applied with it - I've sorted the focus issue

It's looking great! Maybe some mapped roughness to the metals would make it more real.

One thing got me thinking... in the year xxxxx they are still doing those little metal triangles to attach a ribbon to. :P

the edge on the ls is too hard harsh.. i think the dither/noisy look of the new maxwell 1.7 sss would look aswome for the energy beam of the light sabre..

maybe use the vapor preset (play w it to get soft edges) and u might have to insert and invisible emmiter(hidden from gi mode maybe?) into the center of the energy beam to light up the sss form the insid eand that should give it a glow..

otherwise great developing look and materials on the handle-

handle suggestions woudl be:
#1 chamfer/bevel your edges they r way to square harsh n it kills the look of the nice metals..

#2 add weightmaped scrathches in

The originals all have attachment rings of one type or another. Usually "D" rings.

You will not solve the glare problem. The look of sabers, which in reality would be purely a glare artifact, only works at certain distances, and in intensities that are always funky. I did experiments on this once for days. The typical look just isn't photographically feasible in the contexts we see it in.

Good Idea but reading mverta post no chance of achieving it through maxwell

Edges are now chamfered and have added micro scratches its looking better :) Thanks for the comments!

@Bubbaloo - Ive changed it to a D shape like mverta suggested maybe you'll like this one!

@mverta - Thanks for the information prob saved me lost of time in testing :)
