I dont' know if this is specific to 3dsmax 2008(64) or a couple of software apps, but now that i'm using 1.7, mirrored object's textures get jacked up.

any suggestions?

It's a bug in the 3dsmax plugin. Will be fixed for the next update.

It would be very useful a special update for this bug (very soon).
It's very complicated to deal with it... Previews are ok but not the renders :shock:

yeah.... so far the two people on my team that have tried the new max plugin said that it didn't fix the UVW issue. I was PMed a beta to the update a few days ago, is that the same file/update as the official maxwell release of it?

About the issue, could you provide some images or a test scene?

Could any of you guys check your scenes and tell me if it's working for you?

I did a quick test. The object on the right (the mirrored clone) has good textures, but the smoothing appears to be messed up. I tried putting a smooth modifier and edit poly above my meshsmooth, but the mirrored objects is always faceted. There is no bump map.

I've done a test and it's ok, the same test before wasn't ok.

Yeah. It looks like the texures are working, everything is fine - except for the smoothing issue. But maybe that was a problem even before the 1.7 update.

Seriously, is there a plugin fix in the works for Mirrored objects = No smoothing?

Could you give us more details about the smoothing issue? A screenshot or a small test scene would help.
