The problems looks to be with the cube itself. The front left plane is a different size so the texture gets squashed. The other problem plane is not connected to the object so it's UV's are not connected. Just a couple of thoughts.

Thanks becco_UK, but I don't think that is the problem. You are right that the sides of the cube are not equal, but the material has the real scale option applied so should be the same size on any plane. If you look at the difference in size of the different planes, I don't think it relates to the difference in scaling of the material.

Also the planes are all connected as far as I can tell. It was simply an extruded plane from SketchUp.

Any other ideas?

Try first clicking Adjust to object, in the UV params, then checking Real scale in the texture picker.

Thanks, Mihai, I tried that. Unfortunately it didn't make any difference. However, I made a new cube with 6 equal sides. The texture was applied properly.

Here is what the manual says with regard to Real Scale(page 38, paragraph Real Scale (m)):
...This is very useful for creating reusable materials which you can simply drag and drop on any size object. ... Now you can drop this material on any size floor and your tiles will always be 25cm.
Am I misunderstanding? By this explanation I would expect my material to tile the same way on all sides of the cube regardless of the size of any particular side. I know that was the behaviour in 1.5... Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes it should work like that, however there may be a refresh issue when you apply the RS material. Try this, apply the material to the object, then click the material assignment icon in the object list (not the material list) and the viewport should update.

You mean here Image? If so, to no avail... :?

I've just sent you an email with the file and the texture in the hopes you might have 5 minutes to take a look for me.

Thanks for your help.

To eliminate some doubts, try this step by step:

Make a new material, load your texture in it, don't check RS yet.
Apply material to object
Select it's UV set and click Adjust to object
Open the texture picker of the material and check RS
Now click in the material icon in the object list

Thanks for the scene, but when I try to open it, it says mxs file obsolete or corrupted.

Tried it... Step by step! But alas... it didn't work for me.

Did you get the 2nd box?

I still think the problem is with the models being generated. If you make some new UV cordinates does it work then? Don' t know how you do that with your software but in Cinema you simply delete the UV tag, apply a material, choose mapping type, generate UV cords. Takes all of a few seconds and works for 'run of the mill' basic shapes.

I am having the same issue with getting a uniform texture scale. I noticed this problem when going from version 1.5.1 to 1.6. I have another computer that still has 1.5.1 and I tried this again in 1.5.1 and it works fine. Something changed between the two versions and for me it works in 1.5.1. In 1.6 I am having no luck in getting the scale uniform over the entire surface of the model, I need this to get a uniform as-molded plastic texture. I have taken screen shots of the differences between versions, just can't figure out how to post. Thanks
