Yes, Win 64 and Linux 64 will be released with v1.5 (we have also tested Maxwell in Vista 64 with success). As soon as Leopard is released we will port osx to 64 bits.

Regards,

Juan
You made my day. Thank you for confirming Win 64. I set up my box as a dual boot hoping V 1.1+ would be 64 bit.
:D :D :D

I'm thinking 8 dual quadcore machines for a total of 64 cores on 2 licenses. WOW!!!!

Now I have to cost it out and come down to earth. It doesn't hurt to dream. :)

Great news, especially about the new license arrangement! This opens the door to an octacore CPU later this year! :)

I want to know what is going to happen to us educational users that had a plus one liscence. Do we get a four license that transfrom to eight at the end of our 3 years. I would also love to see the shift lense and the Z clip rendering in action.

He is just rendering, no real time 3D is involved. And he is not trying to listen to a music CD either.

Is this right? Those with the Plus one now have EIGHT? Licenses? That's freakin incredible. NL has by FAR exceeded my expectations. I don't even own 8 machines! I'm so freakin happy about this. Everyone at NL, that was one very appreciated gesture which in my mind more than makes up for any past issues with the alpha/beta.

I'm just so happy to read that.

IMHO the per machine license is exactly what maxwell needs! And the render node idea... awsum! It's soooo much more sensible and appealing then before! We oldtimers getting 8 machines, well that's just chocolate sprinkles!

Ian.

Question: about a year or so ago I received an offer from NL for a free second license. But as I didn't have a use for that yet I didn't make use of the offer. But I believe with the new license approach this will not be necessary anymore, as long as I keep using Maxwell on the same machine (regardless of the number of cores or processors in my machine), or am I wrong?
