dear all,
Sorry if my comment seemed in any way offending to anyone.
I meant the work in post like any other matte painting art.
This is also a very difficult task.
Regarding realism... sometimes it's difficult to chose the right approach.
I remember working on a commercial back in '96 when the Silicon Graphics workstations were the big stars.
I was working in Maya's grandpa' that was called Alias Power Animator.
A water bottle was the main subject in the final shot.
I worked days and days to get it right.
After I thought it was the best render I've ever done... I showed it proud to a good friend of mine.
He looked at it with a great deal of respect for all the hard work... but finally brought up the courage to ask me:
" Why didn't you use a photo ?" ....
I was speechless...
Today I still think of arguments...
To reduce all debate to the good old "mine is longer" because... refraction, reflection... objects in mirror are bigger ... is against "Ocam's razor" applied to any individual context based on client, work-flow, habits, budget, feelings, music you listen while you work, Mac or PC, NVidia or ATI, Intel or AMD, IPhone ore RIM, IPod or Zune, Playstation or XBox, Max or Maya, blond or brunette and so on...
So ... I think there are many reasons to use Maxwell Render... at least many that come to my personal mind... if there are other people that find many reasons not to use Maxwell Render they might be right... at least from their personal point of view... But finally this should be the place for those who have all the reasons to use it...
