it's ok - I was being sarcastic (a sorry british characteristic) - pls forgive me

I love this program - everything it does and everything it aims to achieve. Just excited for the release like yourself

As I said earlier, all of this looks great. I have two questions for you though Tom...

1.) Will materials transfer smoothly from RC5 to V1.0? There was some problems with the Beta materials not working very well in RC5.

2.) Will there be some explanation/tutorial in the manual on how to do network/cooperative rendering like you said there would be for Emixer? I'm very excited to about being able to use the office network at night now that we have the extra license (thanks again to NL for that!) but have no clue how to do it.

Will we be able to see our materials in the material editor now, with the Max plugin???? "rather than the black slots"

keep it up,
Jason

P.S. - Stu.dio, Sorry for jumping on your case, I just get mad at people in our office who say the same thing and act that way, so I guess I take it a bit too serious.

Your experience post-1.0 should definitely be more predictable/consistent than during the beta cycle when a lot of things were going through major revisions/improvements. I've been building my own library with confidence.

Amazing news. If we are going to get stuff like this every day of the week, I am not goint to know what to do with myself, however...

Questions!
  • + Will the Emixer be able to mix the lights in an animation (a series of MXI's)? Say for example, someone makes an animation of a bouncing ball - will you be able to fade the lights over time in the animation?

+ Also, will the emixer have a batch operation?
Sorry if these questions have already been asked/answered.

It was mentioned somewhere in the spanish section that the cosmicblobs plugin has been delayed indefinitely due to x64 compatibility issues with the Critter Chaos expansion pack API. More info soon.

Hi,

First of all, sorry for image hosting problems I caused, now they are hosted on our servers as expected. Now back to answers:

RonB: 1. Yes, the manual covers new features for sure. 2. Maxwell is now standalone and it has a standalone material editor. We have plugins for currently announced applications and they're now using standalone material editor. More information will be announced about plugins later. We also target having more plugins in the future.

acquiesse, Seco7 : Thank you too, please see above answer.

Renato: Depends on your configuration, sorry we didn't took notes for most of artistic images, if they are not for benchmark.

Xlars: Thank you, an example to seperate channels is having env render without bkg or having only illumination but no reflection from it and so on. And generally about A-Team images, they are made by several A-Teamers and I respect you can criticise artistic quality but as you've said we are targeting demonstration of features without too much artistic worries. For acryllic cups, I will revisit when I have more time. Thanks again.

misterasset: 1. We forgot beta, RC and suggest you the same with the release. 2. Network rendering is now intuitive comparing to old version and it's covered in the manual as well.

ggjason: Now you have standalone material editor linked with plugins.

kivimaki: Both will be possible later, I think this is quite acceptable for the first version of a software, thank you.

Best regards,
Tom

Hiya Tom!

Great to see the new stuff. Can't wait to get my hands on 1.0! :)

One question from my side: the female face collage reads "MXI/HDR lighting". Does Maxwell 1.0 offer HDR support (or at least automatic internal translation to MXI)? I would be very happy if I can simply use my HDRI collection in stead of having to convert each image into a large MXI file first.

Thanks and cheers,

Metin

Hi Metin,

Yes, Maxwell Render 1.0 supports HDR on-the-fly.

Best regards,
Tom
