hmm, that's a real prob!
I wonder if increasing attenuation would help that out, seems to give me better results this end?

glebe, i tried many settings, with/without reflectance, big/small transmittance, it was always bad :?

If I had that on my desk I'd probably try the following settings:
Ref0=much darker/more grey
Ref90=very light
Trans=lighter
Att=400mm
Nd=1.55
rough=lambertian

[then add slight coating for surface assets, shiny/flat etc]

That gives me a default set-up to experiment from.
hope that's some help. :)
