Hey Mike I understand what you saying, I've decided to hang on for the ride and wait till Maxwell is finished because let's be honest there really isn't any other option. Having said that though shouldn’t negate me from being able to vent my frustrations about how totally sh%&ty this whole thing is. I also don't want to make it any easier for NL because the moment we stop bitching is the very moment where the pressure that was being applied gets removed. I honestly believe that had it not been for our insistency that NL release something in December we would not have found out about what has really been going on over there. Pressure should be applied and if it takes the form of repeating the same thing a million times to get the point across then that's what's going to have to happen.
I wouldn’t expect the bitching to stop once V1.0 is released, if anything it’s only going to get worse. People are sick of waiting for something they should have gotten a long time ago. The fact that were getting half of what we were originally promised in the form of V1.0 is only going to make people want what they paid for even more. NL has screwed up worse than any company I’ve ever seen and they refuse to do anything to correct the problem, so what are we supposed to do just bend over and keep taking it?

OMG what a cry baby, this person your helping out is like sixteen years old or something? obvisously some spoiled brat that if they dont get their way they stomp their feet, cry and make threats... then when they need something all is good for five minutes then repeat..

WTF go away cry baby...

How did you get a job anyway acting like this? You must work for a relative, seems to be the only type of person that would hire you and put up with this shit.

Oh my God Maxer sometimes I want to shake the sh#t out of you. :)

The only thing I know for sure that they're "doing about it" is working their ass off on Maxwell. :(

PM to mverta: "Hi! Sorry about calling you Darth Bleh in the forum LOL but I can't get emitters to work right. Can you help me? Also I can't import geometry and I can't make a simple metal and I have a client presentation in 3 hours it needs to be rendered for."

Just to clarify, I'm the one who called you that, and it was at CGArchitect, and I've never pm'd you or asked for your help. It must have been some other jerk.

[ETA] We really have no choice but to stick it out, do we?

It was the most memorable, though, Frances; I thought it made a perfectly good enough representation for the disparaging comments I got which I can't repeat :P

And no, you've never asked me for anything... but if you had, I'd have helped :)

This thread is hilarious. Mike that conversation post is by far the funniest thing i've read on this forum. Bravo.

ok now, stop crying about the past and look forward to the future. This program is going to be great, as if it already isn't.

Ernest Burden wrote:So Mike, if I do come up with a well-meaning, hopefully constructive way to 'encourage' a more responsive and respectful NextLimit I can count on your support? Even if it's confrontatory?
"Well-meaning" is a brilliant choice of words to pre-justify just about anything...
  • "Why are you stabbing my testicles with that ice pick?"

"Because you said you had a headache and I thought this would take your mind off it. I meant well."
...so I can't blanket agree with just anything because you feel it's well-meaning. And of course, I have no problem with anyone being confrontatory. And to be bottom-line with you, I think NL has made their stance clear, whether you agree with it or not. I think their stance is, "we're bringing you as much as we can as soon as we can."

I suppose apologies would be nice; free updates would be nicer. A fully-realized 1.0 right now would be best, but the truth is, if they had it ready to go right now, it'd be out. They're working on it, and it's improving.

I think that righteous crusader stuff is going to continue to get you nowhere fast. Maybe your first step is to ask yourself what your real goal is: Refund or Maxwell? If it's refund, this isn't the place to do it (obviously) - go get that lawyer and if it's Maxwell, then everything that CAN be done already is. They can't work faster. Can't. Can not. Believe me, they've tried :)

...unless you believe it's all a giant conspiracy, in which case I can tell you you're wrong.

Bottom line, I support productive action, even if it's confrontatory. If you actually filed a lawsuit, I would personally think you were nuts, but I'd support it! I'd say, "good luck with that, you looney!" And I'd mean it! I don't believe we have to be ideologs - you can support Maxwell and still agree that people have a right to be angry. By the way, I'm angry, too. I wanted my Maxwell in October. But I'm not as angry as I am encouraged and excited, so I'm not filing lawsuits.

What exactly do you have in mind that you think is going to change things?
If it's not completely different than what's already been done, I think you can count on it being as ineffective as it's always been.

I realy can't understand why people are crying here.
For years everyone of us has desired the magic button "do beautiful render", now we are going to have it....no more tons of strange incomprensive parameters...ok right now its not what we need\want\expect\was promised, but give it time to grow up, is the same as say "hey, my son was born 1 month ago, why he's not running on a football ground earning 20 milion €????"
The guys at NL are working on it, I'm not a programmer but I'm sure it's not so easy to do the magic button!

Again:GIVE THEM THE TIME THEY NEED

And now, please, let's talk about RC6-V1-new features-fixed(ing) bugs.

Adam Trachtenberg wrote: What I meant was that it's not worth the energy to complain. NL is simply incapable of being open and honest about its develpment, and as you've rightly pointed out several times, they don't take criticism to heart.

I'll just consider my $500 a sunk cost and hope that eventually something worthwhile comes out of it.
Agreed! So far Maxwell is a complete waste of money. NL have already lost me as a possible future customer for any software they´re going to release, and obviously i´m not the only one. I put more credibility in Viagra-emails than Next Limit at this point.

I wont bother asking for refunds, (even though there are most likely some existing laws against frauds like this), but if NL fail to deliver a working plugin i wont exactly recommend Maxwell to anyone else either. Quite the opposite actually. I´m going to warn people about buying it.
