Mihai Iliuta wrote:The viewer is part of the Maxwell package, you should be able to open it separately, without doing a render...I don't know how it is on a Mac, I assume you have program folders :) You should find it in Maxwells program folder.
I've looked through everything I have and I don't see a viewer. Must be a Windoze only thing.

So no HDR to MXI yet?

It has only a crappy Windoze interface, but don't worry. So here is how it goes :

1. Choose a picture file, for example jpeg, and use the context sensitive menu (ctrl + click) to go to "open with"

2. There you choose Maxwell, if its not displayed just choose the last item and go to where the Maxwell.app is

3. Than the mxi-viewer should open. Now you can also choose with the file open dialog, but beware you get an Windoze open-file dialogwindow

4. Now you can work with the settings in the lower left corner, my picture appears when i first moved a slider, before it wasn't visible

5. Dont forget to save

Enjoy......

Odd but true, so you convert a HIGH dynamic image to a LOW dynamic image to go back to some kind of another HDRI. In other words, you loose the high dynamic to fake a new HDRI. ( or not :?: )

Its a temporary thing (so that we can test textured emitters) until until HDR is supported natively.

Thanks ingo. That worked great. And the windows interface was indeed crappy!
