Point taken but i'm not really agree...i prefer to get a realistic render and wait few more hours (maybe because i'm not in a rush when i make my rendering...different business).

As it seems you know a lot about metal, could you tell me what is the most realistic setting for some stainless steel and some chrome plating. I use this two material a lot for my job but i always find my metal was so so...at least now i know there was one problem that i can correct.

Actually we agree ;) I also prefer a realistic rendering no matter what time it takes to render. But if there's any talk about the best renderer out there, people would definitely like to have a common parameter in it (that I use from time to time) without the typical flaws ;)

If you read my posts I was trying to explain the effect of high Nd and custom reflectance inputs. I didn't comment on the problems about roughness and you finally pointed the problem with increasing roughness. If you go back some pages, you'll see I did not make a post conflicting with what you say. I say the darkening in the edge with roughness 0 (low Nd) is natural and it's about fresnel curve but I agree it should disappear with higher roughness and currently there seems to be a limitation here. We'll take care of this next time, thanks!
