Here is a little update... working on the water material. I'm trying here to implement Gianni's technique as i understand from his post here (go to page 3 for the water stuff)

i guess this are too transparent... I'll have to play with the attenuation a little bit.

I really like it and think the water is fine. It looks incredible real. Just post more photos from your pool and tell us it's maxwell - we'll believe you! :D

Mate when seen bigger then PPB they do look so darn awesome!

I'll pat your back for hours, this is the most realistic exterior I've seen! But in the quest to push you to your bounds as on PPB I'll make some suggestions and happy to be disagreed with, this is only my view and it is a work in progress! And honestly I must say I always appreciate constructive ideas, so would appreciate your thoughts or reason in reply!

What is the image for? Market?

I think the pool looks awesome and you seem to have made a feature of it as if this is a selling point (I bet it is!) but for me the image looks a tad cold!

I said this on PPB the glass for me is a tad reflective!

I was just now wondering if the most effective way to get better reflections on exterior glass may be place a hidden MXI emitter set just away from the building rather then to rely on a reflection cast by the SKY / MXI - HDRI reflectance channel which for me is a real pain!

I might test this on my recent attempt! I'll report back!

The texture malfuction around the pool that someone picked up on PPB, did you work out if it was a problem of placement or what is showing to be a bug in the exporter from SU! I know you export as 3ds have you found any such bug!

If you are aiming for a mood shot for your own purpose it's an awesome work if it's to sell I'd be certain someone along the marketing line is going to critique your lack of summer to the pool. Maybe the scene could be darker with some other lighting similar to a shot I previously have seen of yours, think you may have even had a larger scale version of this tree! This may allow you to gain some warmth but not need the added detail required to overcome the question - "Why does it look warm but no one is using the pool?".

The other point I would suggest there is that the angle is for me driving home just the pool, a different angle may bring the pool closer and more intimate with the dwellings and also allow you to show off better your material detailing! This angle issue has been juggled so many times with the Barcenlona Pavilion in the same way might give something for inpiration! (mind you no barc pav images have ever achieved caustics like that!).

do any of you know exactly how to set up the water material? i tried [and failed] using the Gianni's technique but can't make it work.
I try applying the caustics to the transmitance slot in the material editor.... but maybe i am a bit slow??? Can anyone post a screen shot of the material editor with the right settings please?
