Yes!
this is moving forward indeed, is it possibe to adjust the sky saturation without missing these fine variations in light transfer?

Sometimes you get much deeper sky colours in real life, at horizon altitude.

This seems like the type of error done in Su-27 Flanker Flightsim, sky colours was too pastell !

Wonder if this is a bad math model in sky behaviour.

Just a quick test of old scene...10 minutes on Athlon 3500+:

Thin film coating looks good, but there was few glitches with materials in Maya, so it's finished in studio. Very pity MXI's disabled.

Joss, there's a 90% chance you don't want to use a coating for that unless you really want those soap-bubble like intereference patterns. Check the Masterclass main post for how to do clearcoats. If you really want to use the Coating, but don't want intereference, set its thickness to 1,000,000.

Somewhere 'round SL 12 with about 90 minutes of cooking. The eyes are a bit screwed because I accidentally moved them and didn't feel like reloading the scene (and redoing all the materials).

It's a passably complex skin material -- color, bump and oil-sheen, and I'm incredibly pleased with how Maxwell has rendered it. I can hardly wait to get SSS folded back in!

Yes, actually... we've had WAAY too many discussions about making a shader that allows you to fully control that sort of thing ;)

The Sky is to bright at the horizon for me, should be more suttle/deep in the transition.

Same with the main blue sky, to pastell.
Still this is a nightmare for NL, eye/screen-type lcd etc!

Needs to be adjusted by the user I think.

Just thought....is it possible to write out from Studio some kind of a "map" file which will contains materials descriptions and their _bindings_ to the objects, so users could be able re-import their objects and assign all the materials(or maybe let them select which ones) to the whole scene in few clicks.

Ahh, and i forgot completely: one of my old shelves in Maya disappeared, and there's no Maxwell one appears. I think there's some mistake introduced in new scripts.

Aaand....maybe it's worth to implement stand-alone materials editor, and some "proxy shader" for Maya, which will be able to load these shaders, created with Studio or this editor.
