Hehe, absolutely Bubba :D

I been tweaking the color some more, trying to reduce the babyskin look. Maybe this is still to pinkish skin.. :/

[Edit] I'm adding these rendering of a Mickey Mouse model i found on the net here instead of in the main gallery because i don't think they have gallery quality. I rendered this for 4,5 hours at 1600x1200 and reached SL 16,60 in that time. Btw, the SSS is subtle on the plastic parts here, but it's there i swear! :)

My humble test, originals @1000x1000, SL19.67 in 34h on a Q6600@2.4Ghz, strongly denoised

Great SSS tests here

Thanks Max, humble cause it's a simple 10min quick setup on a free internet model, using the silicon gel preset (i've just changed it for blue), nothing compared to what i've just seen along the 14 pages here

I know i am a little late on the band wagon here, but i have a test or two I figured I would post.

Apologizes to Tora and his beautiful skull, but since i had one lying around I couldn't resist.

More like a wax resin than bone, but it really was just choose a few settings and let render.

Also a question i suppose. Not sure if you can combine a BRDF and a B(SSS)DF but i tried. Just a 50% weight to each layer. Gave a sort of strange result but overall pretty successful i think.

I don't suggest mixing BSDF as it will only add a constant smoke but very nice results anyway.

Those dragons look great Bubba :)

def: Interesting shattered sphere :) that thing must have required a massive amount of time to render that clean

Here's one i got cooking right now, this is a 30% screenshot of the fullsize render at 2000x2000. The Poseidon model is one i found at ZbrushCentral, it's sculpted by Jim Kalogiratos. I update this post when the fullres rendering is clean enough to be posted here.
