thanks for the input... you can never be carefull enough.. everything closed solids in Rhino.. but I did find some open edges after extracting rendermeshes..(i tesselated very high to get nice edges)

.. i will fix that and rerender.
not so sure if that will solve it..I rendered this in coop mode and 3 of 4 nodes showed dots one didn't,
merging obviously adds them together :?
I have seen dots on a single mesh cube too..

WOW Really nice mihai for skin.. just a bit more play w roughness and nd values and its finish.. btw is there any bsdf mixed in w the sss material too?

is the face real huma scal and do u mind saharing your sss properties to give us examples.. (esp for ppllike me that never used sss)

The leaves were created by a tree program as flat polygons. I isolated them and added a shell modifier in Max. The grass is a few curved 4 poly blades given thickness like the leaves and instanced around a lot.

There was a bit of a bsdf with a color texture mixed in there as well. I'd like to make this shader better first and use it on a better model.

Ah well the leaves don't look good in my opinion. It really needs a diffuse transmitter material. SSS just isn't built for this job. C'mon NL. It's like one evening of coding and tweaking and then a bit of a tweaking in the morning and voila it's finished.. you can release 1.71 :D

I created that leaf material during 30 minutes. I did not have correct translucence map to use, so I reused the bump map. If I had time to create correct translucence map the result should be good.

There is not shit at all. :) Sorry to disappoint you. They are cubes 0.5 mm thick with alpha channel.
