Mike this is just unbelievable so clean, and those sounds!!
have you done other motion pictures? I mean did you work for big productions like starwars?

It's been awhile.. I don't remember exactly, but only a few hours. As I recall I got the frame time down to about 12 minutes a frame. It was done in mental ray, with no post work (I always use lots of render layers, so this was an experiment in seeing what I could get "in render").

It was rendered on my render farm, which is made up of custom dual p4's with 3.5 GB RAM each, tied to a master Linux-based 2 terrabyte array.
