Being one of those who were lucky enough to receive 4 licenses out of just one - though not lucky enough to get 8 -, I guess I would have to pay 4 times the upgrade price to keep my licenses contemporary?
Feels a bit funny.. bought one license in early days, transformed into 4 licenses, and now will need to purchase 4 upgrades... or will there be a "special" again for us multiple "special" ones?...

I am still puzzled why we got 8 licenses instead of 8 rendernodes.(would seem to make more sense to me anyway) Certainly am curious about this as well

So my question is do we get upgrade price for that singles license that supports 8 computers or are we going to skip the payment on 3 month mortgage and pay $495 x8 = $3,960

Would love to get a clear answer on this.

Yes, that was my initial question, too ... I guess, everyone of us has only 1 license file.. for the ones this file is worth one licence, for others (and me) four, and for the really early birds eight.
Keeping this feauture while upgrading only one licence file would be a nice gesture, I guess.
The decision makers at Next Limit have been making gestures of this kind in the past, so I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.

Well that's all fine and dandy but you only need 1 full license to run a renderfarm when you have rendernodes (unlimited cores with these too), unless I am missing something. Still doesn't really answer the question.

build your own studio with eight people tweaking maxwell all day...who does that? I am sure a few users here, not enough to warrant though IMHO, you spend way more CPU cycles rendering than tweaking

so it would be fair to change the free full-licenses in nodes-licenses as the note are free when upgrading to V2.
i never used my additional 7 licenses but it could be helpful to have the nodes for netrendering..

I am not clear on how my 8 licenses can be used, can I install them on 8 computers and have a 8 computer renderfarm? or will none of them act as nodes without a node license?
