Nicolas,

I am glad to see you on this site.

We need to get out the vote for ArchiCAD by posting a link to this site on the ArchiTalk forum.

Excuse me all but I can't understand why C4D has so many fans...
Can someone give a reasonable answer? Is it about exchange modules or what?

yeee TOM... what is the thing about C4D, so many like it here that i can't figure out how MAX & MAYA are the industry markers!!!

is there a comparison some were around the web on all this apps... what is the best points of one over the other and such... for example i can say that no app is good for architectural design like sketchup as long as you stay away from curves... but even then it is good.

i guess in the end the bottom line is how much u pay and how much u get... so... what is the best ? ? ?

I agree. ArhiCAD would be great. The LightWorks engine we have in ArchiCAD 9 does not have radiosity. Our models deserve a better rendering.

I would then ask for Rhino3D: the best NURBS modeler in the world. ( http://www.rhino3D.com ).

BTW. Does 3D Max already have one too?

There's working plugins for Max, Maya, Lightwave, Rhino & Solidworks.

I don't use any of these on the list. I am using the rhino plug-in now, and it is great so far. Needs a lot of work, but that is to be expected. The C4D people are foaming at the mouth for their plugin. I use Cinema also, but I got the Rhino one, so I have been cured of Maxwell Fever for now.
