The only solution is just try and error.

but I don't understand why NL make this param's max value to 1000 instead of 1 (beta's).

:?
maybe just divide for 1000 and u go bacK to 1..
958 = 0,955 ; 567=0 ,567 and so on.. who knows if works

I´m a bit confused..., in your test, aparently, you have to make your material transparent (with transmittance), so What if I want an opaque material to have SSS?, I can´t find how to do that...

Hell, now I undestand why my setup doesn´t work at all...

It's my test.

reflectance color : 255.0.0
transmittance color : 220.28.28
nd : 1.5
absorption : 0.1
scattering : 1.0

and not my model.

sandykoufax,

it really looks nice in your render but I can't really recreate it
with these settings. I assume the values are RGB and what is your BSDF
settings like roughness attentuation? My object just turns transparent like
red glass - no SSS effect visible at all...

Cheers,

J

Thanks guys,

This is my material setting, nothing special.

and in the SSS layer

absorption : 0.10
scattering : 1.00

and she's height is about 30m
