Does this mean the release of 1.1 is imminent?

Hmmm.... Just checked the english version M~R web page - no mention of the demo at all.... Odd that this demo has only been mentioned on the German M~R website so far.

So what sort of limitations has NL put on the demo version - max resolution size, watermarked images, limited number of renderings....

And why has a free demo version with new features been release before us paying customers have gotten ours? What the hell is up with that?

Ahh. Had to hit refresh on the M~R page - Demo is available through resellers.

This still begs the question as to why NL is realeasing a newer version of M~R as a free demo before providing it to paying customers.

Would anybody from NL care to comment on this?

rhis unconceivable absurdity can be mended just by a fast issue of the V.o.1

What I've seen:

1- The demo honours the license.dat file.
2- My past scenes render fine, no obsolete stuff or other problems at all. The render engine seems the same.
3- There are some improvements to studio:
a)The material presets & wizzards work fine;
b)The pack & go feature joins scene and textures BUT disregards env maps. Mixed feelings, sometimes renders but had some crashes I couldn'd trace the cause.
4- Despite the ML check box, HDRI & ML don't talk to each other yet (same render engine?).

My 15 min worth test, some improvement to studio but at least no new issues included in this version. No harm done. Will keep it.

I can't say I agree with NL but if they released that here the fuzz on 'what is new here' would be huge. It's not worth publishing to this pretty savvy bunch of people we have here. Mixed feelings - should have been published as minor fixes & updates to studio at least. Don't know.

  • Max resolution 800x600 px

Thanks ricardo and jdp for the info.

I guess we can chalk this one up as yet another fine example of NL customer support..... :roll:
