Mark: Thanks :D as you said there, many things in this scene don't quite match up to the real deal, the screws are off this world, the screwdriver.. well it has a story of it's own too hehe so yea i wanted to bend reality a bit while still trying to render it out in a realistic way with Maxwell. It felt good to give the creativity a fresh kick in a new direction and get away from the normal daily stuff :P

glebe: Thanks man :D glad you liked it too. And the blade mm yeap it ain't matching up with the handle, but then again nothing in this scene really does ;) it's a bit of twisted reality for ya hehe

Voidmonster: Thanks :)

Wow the steel is really good looking on the Flat-head screwdriver.
No presets there, hu? :D

Really great looking but maybe you should try to render it out with –ml option “On”. By that you may tweak the light to be more suitable for the purpose of the scene. The color of the light is the only thing disturbing me at the moment, but the steel on the other hand tips the scale to satisfaction :P

ludenhud: Cheers! :D the steel material came out real well, i used a quite simple method to do that. Hehe nahh no presets in this scene at all, all materals are by me using the materialeditor in Studio for this. :)

The multilight option steals so much ram for me so i skipped that when rendering to save ram, i know what you mean and i really wanted to use that too to adjust the intensity of the hdri map but oh well maybe next time :)

insomnia: Thanks mate :D that plastic is just about how i wanted it to look, slightly to bright but close enough hehe

Here's a quick'n'dirty tutorial with downloadable maps and files of the shaders i used for this scene for those who wanna play with them..

The path to the textures is something you have to adjust manually but it's easily done.
