I believe your answer to this question lies in the following released image from NL.

Look closely at the wireframe previews, there is something that looks a lot like a compass with definite markers - I believe I can just make out "N", "S", "E", "W".

As tom said , programmable materials wont be in v1.0.
When would that feature be avaliable, cause its a very very important feature.

Also, will the sdk provide editing functions (now it supports creating a scene from scratch)

As maxwell is very popular in the architectural viz world. Will there be a two-point perspective camera in maxwell's 1.x?

Well yes, whiskey is right. But don't think 1.x updates are very far after release.

No, the particles won't be ready for 1.0

is there any plan for supporting different render passes (such as diffuse, reflections, refractions and so on)? can we expect it in a future point release, if not in version 1.0, or is totally incosistent with the technology maxwell is based on?

is there any plan for supporting some kind of mapped environment (skydome mapped with a mxi texture for example).

Will Maxwell (any RC version or final one) support NURBS and/or procedural textures like gradients or fractals?, I'm thinking about MAYA, but anyone would be OK.

Thank's in advance.
