During my communication Victor specifically mentioned that in many occasions he will employ Tom's help in regards to this Q&A thread as well as from other other developers.

This is an experimental effort and it is not curved in stone. Victor has other matters to attand to as well ... and he is often away from the office.

Tom's responses have as much gravity. You may personally not like Tom from the past.. but you have to start getting used to the idea.
I don't particularly have anything against Tom, after the RC came out I came to realize that alot of his seemingly misleading answers to questions were actually accurate (in the sense that he truly didn't know what was going on with certain issues because the app wasn't developed enough for him to know about them).

But the idea that NL's communications with us is 'experimental' and optional is pretty hard to swallow. Am I crazy to think that with all that has transpired it's too much to ask for the guy who's running the show to let us know a little about what's going on?
This effort is experimental in terms of character, implemetation and the style. It is still being tweeked to see how it can benefit both sides (or it may take new forms), but the idea of increased communaction as a whole is not in jeopardy.

We do not want to eat away developer time and at the same time we do not want complete silence.

Hi adehus,

I'm trying to provide you the most certain official answers on the forum.
You claim that I provided you some kind of misleading information.
May you please directly point the issues you think this way. Thank you!

We are truly thankful to Thomas for his extreme talent in such areas.

Best regards,
Tom

Heheh... you kind of misread it Tom... I was saying the opposite!

I initally *thought* that you were being misleading about some things before RC came out, but after the RC was released I could see that you were telling me everything you knew, and that I should have believed you. In a roundabout way, I was apologizing, which I'll do for sure now- sorry.
No problem, I'm always sensitive about being honest here. I think this is enough proven.
I'm happy about now you think in a positive way.
This is a teamwork and I try to do it at its best.

Could you clarify the future of the Pluggins, and the Future of the Standalone version? Will it be possible to do everything inside the Standalone version?

Ernesto, before I add you question, can you make it a little more specific ?
For example, what do you mean by "everything" ?

About the plugins, did you take a look at some responses here:

Can you inform the new developing schedule, so that the user can know when there will be a manual, when there will be released version 1.0, and which features will it include?

Yes, (I just wanted to be short) I will:
I am trying to understand if the standalone version would be enough to work, or if I was going to need the help of another software, trough the pluggin.

I have no clear what will do the Pluggins in the Future, and What is going to be done with the Maxwell Studio.

I am currently working under Autocad 2000, and rendering with AccuRender which is installed on Autocad.

I was waiting NL to develop the Autocad Pluggin, but I do not know if that will be completed or not, and in case it will, I do not know how complete will it be. Now that I have bought Maxwell and am sure that will move my production to Maxwell, I do not know how many softwares will I need.
I know that I can do my architectural models in Autocad, but cannot assign materials, mappings etc becuase there is no pluggin. I have tried the pluggin for sketchup, and saw that it is too limited, so finnally I am using a trial version of Maya, toguether with the Mayall pluggin, where I can do all that I couldn´t with Autocad or Sketchup, nor with Maxwell Studio RC up to now.
Just to give an idea of what is all, for me, I will try to make a list:
Assign a map to a face, with transparency channel.
Use RPC objects or any kind of Maxwell native View Dependant Objects. Assign materials. Move, insert, mirror, scale, and erase objects in the scene. Create animation paths, and render animations. Create several cameras and execute a batch processor to render a sequence of images automatically. Render a sun study animation. Be able to reference external MXS files to be able to handle complex models.

In other words, will I have to buy Maya to use Maxwell in my Production Work? Or Maxwell Studio will do it all, or The future pluggin for Autocad will do it?

I am sorry I couldn´t make it shorter... and I hope it is clear enough.
Thanks for your fast answer! I like the eficiency of this experiental forum.
