Some tests . First 2 are a some views from a school design I did last year.
and the third is a hotel room.
First 2,I let them cook for 5 hours, both. Physical sunlight and skylight. I tried to simulate translucent polycarbonate on the roof (without using sss), but couldn't get good results. Any advice?


And this test took 10 hours, still noisy . This time I used sss on the lamp shades.

And this is in Mental Ray using translucent glass shader from lume tools. Took about an hour.

and I tried also with the built-in radiosity, check the heavy artifacts. The whole scene is about 500k triangles and with max radiosity is a real pain.
The radiosity calculus took about an hour, and the render 5 minutes, without the regathering option.
