Looks like you have the scene scale conversion setting wrong. Look under the system tab, the default is 0.01 which means Maxwell will consider 100 Max system units as 1 meter. This then assumes you are using centimeters as the system unit. If you are using anything other than that you have to change this conversion setting

example....0.024 if you're using inches....0.33 if you're using feet...1 if you're using meters....etc

yes, I also think you're having units problem; once correctly scaled the DOF will be ok.

However, how can we see from this image, Max radiosity is more saturated, but more patchy e splothcy than Maxwell one which is cleary "one step ahead" in lightning simulation, just damn right physically accurate. 8)

just let it the time to stabilize, and it will rock all other radiosity and GI renderers down!

cheers...

Then it's wrong. If you read what it says under that box with that setting, it says something like "40 Max units equal 1 meter". Obviously 40 feet is not one meter. 3 feet are one meter. So that setting should be 0.3

Then something else is wrong, it shouldn't be that blurry. Could you post the scene?

well problem solved:)

you were confusing the display unit settings (which was indeed inches) with the system unit setting (which was meters). The system setting is the important one.

Just set the conversion to 1 in Maxwells system tab and you'll be fine.

Looks great, I amazed the dielectrics are noise free, it use to be the otherway round. The diffuse surfaces use to clear up faster.

make the sun emitter smaller yet brighter, maybe further away also for a sharper shadow

Lovely image!
