The lights (emitters) that are included in the maxwell material menu are based on real lights? If yes why I never get a realistic result when I use it?
I did lots of test renders and I used a digital slr camera to see how closed to the real thing I was but with no luck.
I'm I doing something wrong? scale is correct, model is correct, light and camera correct, thats very weird.
Maybe maxwell realism can be done only with outside shots (sun)?
Thanks

Unfortunately I can't post any images for the moment.
I had a hard disk failure and lost all of my work and projects a week ago, but I will recreate them as soon I get some time.

Has anyone ever done any side-by-sides to show the comparison between a maxwell scene and a real life scene using similar setups? I've scene one comparing D.O.F. but never how light is handled. Be interesting to see.

I've never understood quite how Maxwell handles emitters. I'm sure the info is out there but it's all a bit counter intuitive to me. Adding a light means you have to increase the wattage and I'm not sure what affect number and size of polygons have on that. If I were ever supposed to simulate a room with 3 75 watt bulbs, I'm not quite sure how I'd do it.

First start with simple setup, a box with a lamp on top, take a picture with your camera, then model the box and lamp based on the real size, use the same details (F, iso...ets) for your render like the one you used on the camera. Now compare the images.
