Hi all, I live in Portland, Oregon, USA, and though I know other CG professionals in the local community, I currently don't know anyone who uses Maxwell here. I would enjoy having the opportunity to meet people who use Maxwell in this area and discuss technical issues, projects and other CG/3D topics. If a person I met was more advanced in their knowledge of Maxwell, or 3ds Max, I could see purchasing some tutoring too.

Does anyone live in the Portland, OR area and have an interest in meeting other local uses of the software to discuss technical issues and creative challenges? I could even see trying to form a small Maxwell user group here, up in the NW USA, or a perhaps a sub-group of the local SIGGRAPH chapter. I think it would be a great way to further one's networking and insights. Would anyone else be interested in that?

Hi Aaron,

I don't live anywhere near Portland, I am down in Sacramento, CA., but I have always been interested in the Portland area.

Is there any 3D work in Portland? I mostly do product illustration nothing architectural. I am just curious as I doubt we would be moving anywhere anytime soon. But my wife has always been interested in Portland too...but I doubt she could take the overcast for very long...she gets cabin fever here in the winter!

Cheers, Ron

Hi RonB, Bubbaloo and JCAddy,

Thank you for your replies. I started a new thread under the title "Doing Maxwell in Portland, OR, USA" in the Off Topic area. I thought we could be a little more off topic there, and keep this thread more about making connections in Portland for a Maxwell technology user group here. Please check out the new thread. I've replied more to your posts there. Thanks!

To be more in keeping with the Maxwell Render topic area, I changed the thread name from "Portland, OR, USA" to "Discuss Maxwell technical issues in Portland, Oregon, USA".
