Here is an idea I wanted to try for a while:

Multilight Animation
http://www.divshare.com/download/5761175-e92

There are 2 emitters in the scene, a normal white emitter on the top providing some fill light, and a "special" emitter on the right. Next I'm going to test it with dialectrics since it was mentioned to cause problems.

Edit: Sorry about having to use divshare, I know all the advertisements suck... :x

Bubbaloo - nice concept. When you say a 'special' light, are you using a similar idea to that which has been mentioned so far or are you invoking a new level of Maxwell 'witchcraft' to achieve this effect?

Hey will, I forgot about that old topic. Have you done any more with it? Multilight animations? Would love to see them.

I made a mistake when I said there were 2 emitters in the scene. There are 4. 1 ay the top for fill lighting and 3 that look like this:

But I like will's way better!

Bubbaloo - I think you'll get some weird reflections on very reflective materials with your setup - I did. Maybe Will's method is a better way to go.

P.S. It would be great if there was some way of nl adding this feature to Maxwell - maybe some sort of additional colour temp slider in multilight?

I'm not sure why my method wins. I cant remember how I did it! I think I did animate it and I did a load of other weird colour things but lost all my work on my hard drive. The 'acid' effect thing on my post by mashium123 is the best but i dont think the images show.

Too nice of you, Will... if I remember correctly, we had a similar (or same?) approach... seeing that old thread again, I once again realize that the word "the internet doesn't forget" only is relevant for things that you wouldn't want to share with others normally... :?

So, I'll have a look and try to find some files on my hd... replace the image and video hosters, so the given examples can show up again...

EDIT:
Done. Images and videos should should show up/be downloadable again.
