HI All,

I am in desperation mode....

I used pack and go on my project. All the files were nicely transferred to the folder I specified. When I tried to render the mxs in the same folder as the gathered files, Maxwell render crashes. I opened the mxs in studio and I noticed that all of the textures and such are still pointing back to there original locations on my server. Not the new pack and go folder. I tried to use the fix texture path tool and it did not work.

First, am I doing something wrong. Or is this a bug. My modeling app is form-z

Thanks,

Maybe it has to do with your set paths in MXST looking in the network path first (and finding the files) even though they are right there in the folder. Try disconnecting your network cable and open it and see if it loads the local files.

I've had similar problems, but not resulting in mxcl not being able to render.

What I do to get the materials right is export the mxms to the network drive, goto material browser, load the same materials into your file and then replace the materials in the object tab. Afterwards you can remove the "old" mxms from the mxs and resave.

btw: I've witnessed alot of crashes using the fix texture paths option.
Perhaps its "broken" with you as well

It won't matter if the texture paths are still showing the old paths in the mxs when you open it in Studio. If it can't find them there it will look in the same folder where the MXS file is.

If the Form-Z plugin doesn't have that option, you can just export the mxs, open in mxst and do a pack and go from there. That's how I do it from Max.
