Need to match some background plates.
Some are medium format 6x12 panoramic medium format.
Others are straight 35mm.

What should the film back settings be in studio for both these formats ?
and what other info do I need to get from the camera(photographer) to input to maxwell ?
I presume i need shutter , f stop and focal length ? anything else to consider apart from film back settings ?

Get the filmback sizes from the camera manufacturer, or sometimes the manuals if available. If you don't get them exactly right, then your focal length won't match. The actual angle of view visible in the frame is a product of BOTH the filmback and focal length. F-stop you'll want to know to match depth of field, but the shutter settings are flexible - just expose properly on your own, unless you're matching motion blur, in which case that becomes more important, along with shutter angle (Rotary disc shutter).

Yes, check this sketch to clarify concepts.

Mike is true, the main camera settings from the photographer are filmback and focal length (working together to define your field of view), f-stop, and the position and rotation of the camera (the main are height and tilt angle - needed to match the horizon of the real shot plate).

Film ISO and shutter speed are important too, but they can be easily tune interactively during the render or after it.
