Good evening everyone,

I worked at a file, and after a while I hit the "render" button. Now I get the message: This file is obsolute or has been corrupted.
After a restart I get the same message. Help!!!

Who knows what I can do to repair this mxs?

Thanks in advance.

Hi jvanmetre,

My computer has 250 Gb of free disk space. Looks ok to me :-)

I received the same message and discovered that mxs files were being written to an external drive that was filled. Sounds like it's not the drive.

Well the drive where the mxs is stored is an external drive..

Just for sure, I stored the mxs on my c-drive, but unfortunately there was no difference.

I dont know is it so, but I noticed that 1.7 have problem with non english caracters in mxs file names or place names where are they saved. If you using non english characters in file names/directory names, try to place mxs file direct in to "documents" folder and open/import it from there.
It worked for me.
p.s. sorry for my english

Hi Ugis and Bubbaloo,

Tried both of you're tips but it didn't work.

In MicroStation attaching a corrupted file is also a very good way to repair it :-). When importing the file in Maxwell, unfortunately I get the same error message :-(.

Have you opened this file in Studio and saved it, then tried rendering from Studio? If you can, please send me the mxs.

Try also opening it in Studio, assigning a default material to all objects and render.

I get the error message on files - it appears to happen if i have moved them from the place where they were created although I have not yet found the consistent error.

In addition an identical licensed machine will not open mxs files created on a sister machine - again I cant work out what the problem is - I have tried moving files, checking paths etc
