I am trying to use the zbuffer render channel to create a displacement map. I have created an arrayed set of triangles all 1'x1'x1'. I am in perspective view inside Max far away from the object to reduce perspective distortion. I set the zbuffer min to 0 and max to 1. (What units are these numbers anyway?) My z-render keeps coming out black and no adjustment in ps brings out the map shades. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone tell me how to do this? I even tried it from MXST in TOP 2d view, with the same results.
