Are there any new materials available for Maxwell 1.7?

I think I originally downloaded about 50MB of materials from the link but deleted the download after some problems with arroway textures were reported, and now I cannot find any new materials on the download page for 1.7.

The materials link now has last years date.

I would suspect there are new materials and presets to take advantage of the new features. Wouldn't urethane be a new material? And wouldn't there be new material definitions to utilize SSS?

Thank you if anyone can shed light (no pun intended) on this.

check the wizard for new sss materials. They are all there

When you add an SSS component, there is a dropdown in it that lets you choose from 36 SSS preset materials.

yes, but It's only text ..I don't see new precalculated material previsualisation scene object (the water jet, I guess)..

It's not only text. It is complete materials, ready to be used. The only thing you have to do yourself is making a preview image and apply the material to your scene.

ooo..I have to modelize some water ^^ ..yes I understand

..but the thumbnails seen on the "what's new" pdf could be quite handy for the browser

Something strange is going on with the materials and was noted here: http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... hp?t=28656. Juan suggested downloading 1.7f again but I did that and the material database is still not right. I downloaded the material database from the Additional Content tab of the NL download site but am experiencing some problems. I posted under the Cinema 4D forum here and got no responses so I sent an email to NL.

So, you are not alone.

If I get an NL response and nothing is posted here, I will post NL's response.

Thank you all - this forum is one of the most reponsive and helpful I have come across.

For someone like me who uses Maxwell a little less frequently it would be great to have preset materials (with previews) as part of the material database. Perhaps a folder called SSS preset materials?

But the information here is very helpful - I will make previews and save out a few SSS materials like polyurethane.

And I will keep my eye on the materials download in case it is updated.
