Ciao,
i created a simple scene: an aircraft flying in air.
I noticed strange reflection from above, and looking at background i saw a real "2nd sun" in lower part of sky sphere.

Raising FOV i could see 2 suns both in sky preview (3ds max 2009) and during mxcl render...

here's my sample: i put a very reflective material to airplane to show 2nd sun in skymodel and the reflecton under airplane wing. the airplane i the only geometry in scene.

Isn't there some kind of earth reflectance parameter ....?

I know nothing.

ps. dual suns though ... I'm sure geeks delight in that.

Hehe yes Chris, that's something geeks will enjoy. A true binary sunset :D

@ paperless
EN: seems that hemyphere is over a 100% reflecting sea (and also 2nd sun looks not circular). is this correct? or right result should be a sky model with ground similar to mentalray skymodel?

@ maximus
sorry for F16 model, but i haven't any X-wing or Tie-Fighter in my library :D

That's alright :) i let you get away with it this time Luca hehe

What you're seeing there isn't that a reflection of a reflection, in other words the physical sky sun reflects in the 100% reflective floorplane, and that floorplane reflection is then reflected by the 100% reflective underside of your F-16 wing. But it's a pretty neat effect! :) it makes it look almost like a binary sunset.
