when the SSS coefficient is set to any value greater than 0 (ie +1) and nD vaule is between 1.001 (air?) and 1.62
than maywell engine crashes on startup (started up running from maya 2009 x64 plugin)
Sometimes it crashes with nd set to 1.000 as well..
BY CRAHSES i mean MX Engine window STARTSUP and then as its trying to start render it crashes and closes enging window.
I have to set nd value to 1.163 to get it to render a sss render (I am trying to do a volumtric look like this thread in 1.7 engine: http://maxwellrender.com/forum/viewtopi ... c&start=15 in that example page 2 Renato Lemus has his nd value set to 1.001 (air?) so i was trying to replocate his volumetric cube w/ spheres setup... it acctually works SOMETIMES w/ nd set to 1.000- gives a strang black edge to cube- but for reliablility i set nd to 1.165)
ALSO if Asymetry is anything OTHER than 0 (ie -.25, 0.5, etc) then engine crashes with nd set to 1.163 and it wont render unless nD is set to 1.165
I also tried playing with changing roughness for 0 to .5 to 1 and changeing ref0 and ref90 colors but nothing prevented enging from crashing if nd set to 1.001-1.162
and somtimes If i render w sss ON (with nd 1.165 or greater) engine crashes ANYWAYS.. and i simply will resubmit render from maya2009x64 plugin and it works/renderds just fine ? weird..
and engine ALWAYS crashes if camera is inside or even too close to sss cube
