Hi

So I decided to instal new release and i am dissapointed again. First scene, first try, first crash. So I had to find problem again. Now there is a problem with my tif textures. Same textures used to work perfectly with previous version. So again. New relaease, new bug, much work to rework some scenes, materials, textures...

Why???!!! With C4D i can everytime smoothly upgrade with no problem. With maxwell, never. :(

Strange problem that, i suspect some programs save tiff files slightly differently and then Maxwell might have a problem reading some of them. I noticed some tiff's i got appear interlaced so i have to resave them in another app and then they work fine.

Maybe you could try resaving them in another application and then try again and see if that helps.

Are you sure it's about the tif file? In what situation is it crashing. If you could provide a scene it would help.

Yes I am sure. Tiff image with saved transparency causes these crashes. I resaved my textures and now it works. Same textures worked fine with 1.5.1

It'd be great if you could email that particular TIF file, so we can debug.

I sent one of "crashing" texture to you, tom.

Please confirm if it is Maxwell bug or my "bug"..

Thanks

I received the texture and did the following tests, all passed OK here.

- MXCL: Load Image PASSED OK
- MXST: Load Texture in Material Editor PASSED OK
- MXST: Preview image in viewport PASSED OK
- MXED: Load Texture PASSED OK

Is there something more I should do to make it crash?

Hmm, i do not know. On my PC this texture causes crases everytime with every maxwell apps as soon as i try to open it. I will try to choose another and send again. :(

I can finally confirm this bug with x64 executables of Maxwell.
32 bit version has no problems, that's why it worked for me.
Thanks fo reporting, we'll fix it ASAP.
Meanwhile you can prefer another format.
