--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I noticed in Task Manager that my system was using 2.09 GB of memory. Looking at processes, the numbers didn't add up to even half of that. I had 3ds Max using 196 mb and mxcl using 210 mb, actively rendering. Another instance of mxcl was a stopped render. Closing that instance freed up 1.4 GB of memory.

When a render is stopped, mxcl should release all but it's basic memory requirements.

To elaborate, I was merging mxi's in the inactive window. The loaded mxi was 113 MB. The mxcl.exe requires about 14 MB to run bare. So it doesn't account for the excess. There seems to be a memory leak - memory that TM Processes can't display, but that the Performance dialog can show.
