after the first practila tests i found the handling of maxwell materials by custom attributes very complicate. even with the two buttons in the maxwell palette for assigning attributes. one of the main problems: how can we easily create a materials library? isn't it possible with the current library to access the surface styles? another problem is that using two parallel systems to assign surface properties we have to care of both when changing the surfacing in formz. just my 2 eurocents :?

Hi Markus,

We know that the perfect way to integrate Mawell materials in FormZ would be through the surface styles panel. Unfortunalely this is not possible at now. But anyway there are ways to add substancially enhancements to the current material assignment system, and we will do that soon. The Maxwell materials engine is going to change a lot in two months and we need to wait a bit to know exactly how can we achieve the best integration inside FormZ, but sure ge keep this way.

Juan

This is probably a stupid question on my part, but- how are you able to apply materials to objects? My 'Maxwell Menu' control panel is up and working, but how do I access the 'Maxwell Attributes' plugin?

Thanks, Andy

Edit: When I try to open with the 'Extensions - Run Utility' it tells me 'Plugin file only contains project level utilities and no project is open'... I do have a project open.
use the 'query attributes' tool on any object. you will see a list of 'additional attributes' at the lower part of the dialog. click on 'Maxwell Materials'... .-)

later, use the 'assign this object as source' and 'apply source attibutes to selection' buttons in the Maxwell Menu to mass copy attributes with MXW materials.

cheers
