Does anyone on this board who is proficient in maxwell materials live in southern california? I am having a hard time figuire out the materials and emitter aspect of maxwell and could really just use a indepth tutorial or an hour to show me the basics. I can't get this thing to work for the life of me. We can work out a compensation. Thanks

I'd say the best start is reading the manual, the section on materials and how Maxwell translates real world light interactions. There are also some basic material examples. If you have specific questions just ask on the forum.

I read the manual and looked at some tutorials on this site, the problem is I still end up with "blackout" renders. From a theoritical perspective I understand what is going on and how maxwell treats light and the layers of materiality in each mxm. I just don't seem to be able to put it into practice. It's probably something dumb I'm doing, but I'm not even getting an mxi slider. I guess that is why I step by step would be of great help. or even better a face to face.
