If you take a look at this page the first image is of a bank.

I want to get some cloud reflections in the windows. I turned on the HDRI image for "reflections" and added a sky HDRI. I could not see any of the clouds in the window.

Any suggestions on how to do this in maxwell? Thanks.

Maybe try an HDRI with more clouds in it?

This looks more like a glass issue than a hdri issue. However, try ramping up the value for the reflections hdri slot to 10.

You can always save a copy of your scene and apply a chrome mxm to all objects, to make sure the windows would be reflecting the hdri.

Are you using AGS for the windows?

To increase ags reflections, you can do a couple of things. Increase the smoothing angle of the glass object to 60 or higher and / or increase the weight of the reflection layer of the AGS material and / or the ND value for that layer.

I'm surprised that trees are not reflected either. Are they part of the background image or they are mapped onto an object? It could be due to the object properties if they are mapped onto it (invisible to reflections or something like that) or maybe you set the background but not the reflection channel... cause the glass is clearly reflecting the bushes and the ground.

Thanks for the replies. After doing some tests (above) it appears that Maxwell acts like FormZ renderzone. It is just more difficult to get a reflection on a flat surface than a curved one. The toruses all reflect the map completely but the flat box just gets a little detail.

>>>BTW, do you know what causes the white squares on the cylinders? The tall is polygonal and the short is a smooth object.
