Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

I often have to do renders of a family of objects. Its helpful to keep them all in the same scene, so that if I make changes to the scene, I don't have to change all the different scenes.

It would be really useful if I could save a scene state ie lighting settings, hidden not hidden objects etc.

Thanks.

Some plugins allow this. In C4D its possible to have multiple 'maxwell-scene's and have other elements needed just for that scene, such as lights, set as children of the scene object. In this way I can toggle between different lighting setups, some of which are camera specific.

hope that made sense.. just woke up..

Same with Max.

This would be sweet. At the moment I use multiple scenes each with a specific lighting setup, all referencing the same master scene to get round this, it's ok but not ideal!

Just bumping this thread. I first posted it almost 3 years ago and am still struggling with this in Studio!

I often get clients coming back a year or 2 later, wanting me to revisit some work I had done and I have to dig up the old maxwell scenes. Often when you change the camera angle you might need to adjust the lighting to get the highlights right etc. and I feel more now than I did 3 years ago that maxwell studio needs to have a way of saving multiple configurations of objects visible, camera angles and lighting etc.

There are also a number of simple suggestions that have been made over the years for improvements to studio that have been ignored in favour of implementing complex improvements that are good marketing features. For the next update can we please please forget overly complex features and have some basic focus on improving studio workflow!

Good question!

There are us poor Creo, Catia and Alias users who depend on Studio

Just the same as all the other 3rd party renderers, studio is a place where you can open and check mxs scenes exported from various plugins. Using studio to build scenes is incomprehensible to me. I do use it for testing materials, often with the simball scene.

Hmm, i work with Alias and i dont want to use a heavy soft like Maya just for my render...

Exactly. Why are there no plug-ins for serious design and engineering softwares? But, Studio is not bad at all, just a few interface quirks and simple functions missing here and there.

But what about growing and learning new skills, its a dead end, hardly a long-term workflow solution, how would you set up a scene like this in studio? (most of the modelling originated from grab-cad ironically)... raw render (b+w film) :P
