I second this, but with a twist: the ability to say, render a sss glass light fixture to an mxi (just the glass part, not the emitter) that could then be applied to copies of said fixture in a large scene; would drastically cut down (eliminate?) on noise generated from multiple glass/sss materials

Second the GI cache. This could combine with a simple walkthrough feature to solve a lot of peoples problems
