I know this was brought up a very long time ago (a couple of years at least), but it would be nice to have an infinite ground plane option. This is something that I really liked when I was working with Brazil r/s.

If I remember right, it actually way asked for some time ago. The problem
with it was, that absolute scene size in relation to the camera influences
rendering time. So an infinite plane (obviously) enlarged the scene quite a
bit with significantly slower rendering.

So AFAIK we won't see this in the foreseeable future due to the rendering
method used.
